Top 5 // Eye Products

I've got quite a few eye products but I thought I'd share my favourites with you.

Makeup Revolution Iconic 3 Palette £4.00: This product is just amazing. It's a great dupe for the Naked 3 Palette by Urban Decay. The consistency and the pigmentation of the eyeshadow is brilliant and you can make so many looks with the colours that you have.

Barry M Bold Waterproof Eyeliner in Black £3.99: I don't think I've ever found a pencil eyeliner as good as this. It stays on all day, the pigmentation is really dark, it's easy to blend and it's cheap. I ware this all the time, so much so that I'm on my third pencil.

Beauty UK Glitter Eyeliner in Silver £2.99: I love glitter and this product is cram packed with it. Not only is the consistency of the product great but it contains just the right amount of glitter. It's really easy to use as the brush is really thin and it looks really good on the lower lash line to add a bit of sparkle.

Collection Waterproof Fast Stroke Eyeliner in Black £2.99: This eyeliner did exactly as it says it does. It's quick and easy to use and stays on all day. It doesn't run in the rain and it's really pigmented, not grey like some eyeliners.

Maybelline Mascara Volume Express 100% Black £6.99: I have been using this mascara for so long. I always repurchase it and I very rarely try any different mascaras because this just works so well for me. I keeps the curl in your lashes, the product is the perfect consistency and it's not clumpy at all.

Makeup Revolution // Lip Lavas

I love lipstick, so, as soon as I saw these products I was desperate to get hold of them. Makeup Revolution do some brilliant deals on their website so I managed to buy all five for the price of four with this deal. Each lipstick is £2.99 each and, in my opinion, well worth the price.

When you look at these lipsticks you can clearly see that they are dupes for Too Faced Melted Lipsticks and that's just brilliant. I can't compare the two products as I don't own any of the Melted Lipsticks but if they're anything as good as the Lip Lavas I may invest in one or two.

The boxes that the lipsticks come in are lovely. They clearly show which colours are which whilst still being chic and eye catching. The actual lipsticks are a very clever idea. As the lipstick is liquid they are in plastic tubes which are very easy to use and you can control just how much product you want to use. The applicator is made of a very stiff felt-like material in a doe foot shape. The product glides smoothly off it and onto your lips almost effortlessly and the shape follows the natural shape of your lips really well.

The actual products are lovely. I was a little worried that they might dry out my lips as they are quite cheap but I was pleasantly surprised. They are very smooth and moisturising on the lips and they last quite a while (as long as you don't rub it off by eating or drinking too often.) They aren't greasy or sticky and they stick to your lips and don't end up all over your mouth by the end of the day. You only need a small amount of product to cover your lips as the colour is very opaque. The five different colours are Firestorm, Forgiven, Shockwave, Tremor and Unleash.  There is a good mix of bright and neutral tones in the collection which is great as you can wear them for any look.

Overall, I am very impressed with these products. They are everything I wanted them to be and more and I can't wait to use them in future looks and on a day to day basis.

Makeup Revolution Blush Palette // Sugar and Spice

The Makeup Revolution Blush Palettes all look so appealing with such a large range of colours, but the Sugar and Spice Palette drew me in the most. I bought this palette from Superdrug for just £6.00 which is a really good price as the product is such high quality.

When I saw this product on the shelf I just had to pick it up. I looked at the other blush palettes that the brand have to offer and this was the one I liked the most. However I still want to buy a few more as they are all so beautiful.

The packaging is so sleek. It's quite big so isn't perfect for travelling but that's not what I bought it for so that doesn't bother me. The mirror in the lid is perfect if you don't have a mirror to hand as it is large. The product is in quite large circles which means that you get a fair amount of blush for the price.

The quality of these products is just amazing. The colours are so opaque and vibrant. My favourites are the second along on the top row and the one below it. I use the darker, brownish colour as a bronzer and the pink as a blush almost everyday when I'm just wearing a toned down look. I have never had any problems applying or blending these products with the brushes I use and they aren't dusty at all, even the glittery shades. You do only get a little product on your brush but that's really all you need as the blushes are so highly pigmented.

Overall I am very impressed with these products and will definitely be buying a few more of these palettes when I get the money. I highly reccmends the palette to anyone who loves to have a little colour in their cheeks.

Top 4 // Spring Nail Polishes

Pastel nail polish is just perfect and what better time to wear it than spring. I have a lot of nail polish colours that I love, but considering it's spring time, I thought I'd share the brighter more floral ones with you.
From Left to Right: Barry M Sugar Apple, Rimmel London Lose Your Lingerie, Barry M Mint Green, Barry M Berry Ice Cream.

Barry M Sugar Apple - This is a gelly polish and to be honest I find the consistency a little gloopy, however this could be because of how old it is. The colour is just beautiful. A really light baby blue with a lovely shine is just brilliant for the spring.

Rimmel London Lose Your Lingerie - This polish isn't only one of my favourites for spring but also one of my all time favourites. Not only is the colour such a lovely pearl pink but the consistency is just brilliant. It glides on like a dream and dries in such a smooth layer.

Barry M Mint Green - Once you have managed to layer up the nail polish enough for it to be opaque, the colour is gorgeous.  The mint green is so bright and floral, perfect for the spring. The consistency is really nice too and glides on and dries perfectly.

Barry M Berry Ice Cream - This is very similar to the mint green in the way that you have to apply a few coats but once you have it is beautiful. The consistency is lovely and it looks just like ice cream.

Makeup Revolution // Baked Eye Shadow Palettes

Makeup Revolution sell some of the most beautiful drugstore makeup on the market in my opinion. Every time I see something of theirs I like, I just cannot resist the temptation. I recently bought some new products by Makeup Revolution from Superdrug and I am so excited to create some lovely looks with them. I purchased the Chocolate Deluxe and the Electric Dreams Baked Eye Shadow Palettes and I'm impressed to say the least. Also, to make it even better, they're only £2.50 each!

As soon as I saw these palettes all I could think about was how many different looks I could create with them. The shimmery shades stood out among all the other eye shadows that I had looked at they were the ones that I was desperate for. When I swatched them in the shop I was surprised by how pigmented they were and after playing about with them a bit I can confidently say that they look just as good on the eyes.

The packaging for the products is very sleek. The clear top allows me to see which palette is which without having to open it up. The gold lettering contrasts beautifully with the black plastic holder and the shadows are a lovely shape.

Electric Dreams Palette from bottom right to top left

Chocolate Deluxe Palette from bottom right to top left

The pigmentation of the shadows is really good as you can see from the pictures above. The shadows aren't glittery as such but have more of a pearl effect as they reflect the light. They aren't dusty and I haven't experienced any fall out so far. The palettes include a wide range of colours from light to dark. If I had to pick some favourites I would have to say the gold on the Chocolate Deluxe and the lightest purple from the Electric Dreams. The only problem I have with these palettes is that the shadows don't have individual names but that doesn't effect the quality so it isn't a big deal.

Electric Dreams
For this first look I used three of the colours from the Electric Dreams Palette. I used to bottom right colour in my crease and the outer corner of my eye and blended it out. I then put the top right colour on my lid and the top left in the inner corner of my eye to brighten the look. I also used some of the bottom right colour under my eye.

Chocolate Deluxe

For the second look I used the penny colour from my MUA Matte Palette and applied it to my crease. I then put the bottom right colour of the Chocolate Deluxe palette on my lid and the top right colour in the inner corner of my eye. I also put a little of the penny colour under my eye.

I love these palettes and would recommend any makeup revolution eye shadows to everyone. They are just perfect!

Nail Art // Valentines Day

I love nail art and considering valentines day is coming up I thought I would show you my themed design.

First, I prepped my nails by removing any old polish and filing my nails to the shape I wanted. Then I applied two coats of Coconut to all of my fingers except my middle one as I did that in two coats of An Affair In Red Square.

After the polish had dried I applied the stamp to my ring finger on both hands. To do this you must put a thick line of polish along the top of the design you want to use. Then, using your scraper, scrape downwards to remove any excess polish and fill in the design. Press your stamper onto the plate and then roll it over your nail to apply the design. It may take a few times to get this right so I suggest having a little practice before you go in to do it properly.

After you have stamped you will probably have quite a lot of polish around your nails. Just dip a cotton bud in remover and wipe it around the edges of your nail to get the polish off your skin. Then apply a topcoat (I used the original one from OPI) to seal in the design and give it a brilliant shine.

I hope everyone enjoys their Valentines day. Thank you for reading xx

Maybelline Colour Tattoo // Pink Gold

Just after Christmas I went shopping with my boyfriend and picked this up from Superdrug. Its the Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Pink Gold and it was just £4.99. It wasn't a product that I had set out to buy but I had seen so many people raving about it so I decided to give it a try and I'm so glad I did.

First of all, the packaging for this product is just lovely. It looks so clean and professional. Maybelline seem to have really thought about how this product looks as the glass bottom is so chic and shows off just how lovely the colours in the range really are. The screw on cap is really easy to use and also makes it safe to put in your handbag as you can be sure that that cap wont fall off and the product won't get all over your handbag.

I have never been a great lover of cream eye shadows, but this product has made me think twice. It is so smooth and creamy unlike many others I have tried in the past that have been sticky. I doesn't crease on the eye and you cant even feel its there. The product applies so easily and just glides onto your eyelid. Its best applied by just using your fingers as I found it was quite hard to pick up with a brush but that doesn't bother me in the slightest.

The pigmentation of this product is just amazing. Its so shimmery and bright. I think it really makes your eyes pop and you don't need much for the colour to show and the more layers you put on, the more shimmery it gets.

The product claims to last 24 hours. Now, I can't really test that theory very fairly because I'm not prepared to stay up for that long whilst wearing the product but I can say that it lasts quite a while. I occasionally put this on in the morning for school and it still looks just as pigmented at 9 o'clock at night when I take it off.

I did attempt to make a look with the product. Firstly I put the Colour Tattoo all over my lid. I then put a dark brown shade from the Makeup Revolution Redemption Palette Iconic 3 in my crease and blended it up and into the cream shadow. I applied a little more pink gold to my lid just to make sure the sparkle was showing. Lastly I curled my eyelashes and applied my favourite mascara (Maybelline Volume Express Colossal 100% Black )

Overall I absolutely love this product. The texture, payoff and even packing are just amazing and I cannot find any faults. I am really hoping to try some more shades in the future.

Makeup Revolution // Redemption Palette Iconic 3

I really wanted an eyeshadow palette that has lots of different rose gold shades. My price range isn't very high so I had to find one that was fairly cheap but still very much worth buying. After quite a while of looking I finally found the Makeup Revolution Redemption Palette Iconic 3. It was only £4.00 from Superdrug and is just amazing.

When I first saw this palette I was so impressed by the wide range of gold's, pinks and browns. There is a great mix of shimmery and matte shades. It was exactly what I was looking for and I would recommend it to anyone who was wanting the Naked 3 palette by Urban Decay but it was a little too pricey as this is a brilliant dupe.

The packaging for these shadows is very convenient. The palette itself isn't massive but you get plenty of each colour as pretty much all of the container is filled apart from the small indent in the bottom for the brush it comes with. Also, I love it when palettes have clear plastic in the lid because it makes it so much easier to tell which is which instead of having to open them all to figure it out. It also makes the palette look very professional and sleek which I find very inviting as it makes me feel as though the product will be of good quality.

These shadows are so highly pigmented its almost unbelievable (especially as the price is so low.) Every shade is exactly as it is in the palette when swatched and applied to the eyelid. They are so bright and the glitters really do sparkle if you catch them in the light. They are not dusty and the only fallout I have experienced has been bits of glitter falling off my makeup brushes as I apply it.

I created a look using the palette to try and give you an example of what some of the colours look like on. The lighting wasn't great so the colours didn't show up properly you can still see the sparkle.

I have used the palette quite a few times before writing this so that I could get a good feel of what the shadows are really like and they last ages. I would say without a primer they last about six hours but if you put a primer under them I would expect them to last about eight or nine hours.

I definitely recommend this palette to anyone who is looking to brighten up their look and really make their eyes pop.

Coastal Scents // 22 Piece Brush Set

I've had these brushes for a while now and I just couldn't wait to share with you what I thought of them.

I got these brushes for Christmas off my parents because I'd been desperate to get some so that my makeup could look decent for a change. Its a 22 piece makeup brush set from Coastal Scents and my parents bought them off Amazon for just £34.49.

I had looked at multiple reviews on blogs and on YouTube to try and decide which brushes to buy and these seemed to be the best ones that were in my price range. They just looked so dense and everybody was saying that they were great for applying any makeup and that all of the brushes did the job perfectly. There are a wide range of brushes here from eyes to lips to face.

When I opened the present I got so excited and I just couldn't wait to use them. The quality of the brushes is just amazing. Just as the reviews suggested they are so dense and soft. (I just sat and brushed them over my face for about five minutes.) I have used the brushes almost everyday since Christmas and not one hair has fallen off any of the brushes. I am so impressed!

The brushes look so clean and professional and the faux leather case that they come in is so handy and keeps the brushes from getting tatty.
The brushes themselves pick up the makeup perfectly and have a great colour payoff when you apply the makeup to your skin. They blend really well with the eye shadows I have used with them so far and I really couldn't ask for them to do any better for the price.

I highly recommend buying these brushes if you have a low budget but are still looking for very good quality brushes. I am so happy with this purchase.

January Wishlist

I have decided to start doing a wish list. Possibly one every month if I can but it may involve a few repeat products as I probably won't be able to buy them all within that month. They won't always be so beauty orientated and I will try my best to keep up with it all.

I have been wanting to get my hands on all of these products for a while now. The primers are something new for me as I have never used a primer of any kind before. The rest of the products are things that have either been recommended to me by friends or I have had my eye on but never picked up in the store.
